As much as we love weddings, we have to admit, we’re a sucker for a great honeymoon. Honeymoons are the time newlyweds get to finally relax, wash away the stress of party planning and enjoy each other’s company as a married couple for the very first time. The best part, though? Brides can take off those false eyelashes and shed that ten-pound dress for a look that’s a little more subdued, but one that’s just as stunning. Today, then, we wanted to break down our top picks for what to wear on your honeymoon—get ready to nail that au natural look, while still making that groom of yours go weak in the knees.

In the spirit of full disclosure, this post contains affiliate links, which means that we may get commissions if you decide to purchase anything from any of these companies. We only recommend products that we love ourselves and we think you’ll love, too.

Lingerie

We’re starting with the one thing every bride wants to bring on her honeymoon—lingerie. Because you’ll be traveling with them, we love the idea of opting for skivvies that are both comfortable, chic and sexy at once, and no designer nails that combo better than BHLDN. We especially love that BHLDN’s lingerie options are none of the fuss, with all of the appeal. We’re swooning over their simple but sexy Vilmena Chemise, their Ivone Bodysuit in a super-sweet blush hue, and this insanely sexy Bellflower Brief, Bra and Garter. For brides who want to sneak a little something sexy under their dinner dress without the worry of fussy lace or lines showing through, we are super excited about BHLDN’s SPANX Lingerie line—we especially love the SPANX lace bralette, SPANX lace brief and SPANX Contour Slip.

Swimwear

With most couples headed to the beach for their honeymoon, swimwear is such an important piece of the what-to-pack puzzle, but you don’t want to wear that same bikini you’ve donned for three summers now. Freshen up your look with honeymoon-specific swimwear in ivories, whites and blushes, with oh-so-sweet design details that feel celebratory and romantic. We’re especially swooning over BHLDN’s Coronado One Piece, their Sao Paulo Bikini and their Eva Malliot.

One Stunning Dinner Dress

While most everything you pack for your honeymoon will be casual, every new bride needs that one dinner dress that wows. We love the idea of using Rent The Runway for a stunning dress at only a fraction of the cost. For an easy-breezy beachside dinner, we’re obsessed with this asymmetrical Yellow Floral Maxi by Slate & Willow and this super cool Theia Ocean Maxi. For brides who aren’t ready to quit wearing white just yet, we’re pretty weak in the knees over this stunning Free People Printed Lace Sweetheart Midi, this ERIN Erin Fetherston Woven Garden Dress, this Jill Jill Stuart White Harlow Dress, and this super beachy parker Tulum Combo Dress. For Grecian getaways where you’ll be dining al fresco, try this Tory Burch Floral Mariana Dress or this ELLIATT Porcelain Picnic Dress. For brides looking for a silhouette that’s simple, streamlined and super sexy, opt for this LIKELY Apricot Driggs Dress, this Jay Godfrey Sunflower Thompson Dress, or this Jill Jill Stuart Lovely Duo Gown.

Simple Skincare

A honeymoon is a great time to give your skin a rest from all of that airbrushing, waxing and contouring that went on for your wedding. We recommend opting for a fresh, easy-breezy look on the beach, which starts with a great CC cream. CC creams contain SPF and, while they still provide great coverage, aren’t quite as heavy as a typical foundation. Our favorites are Supergoop! CC Cream Daily Correct, Black Up Matifying Tinted Moisture and Giorgio Armani Beauty Luminessence. To help retain that just-married glow throughout your trip (and on that long flight), we recommend bringing along a great revitalizing facial mist as well. We’re obsessed with Caudalie Grape Water and Philosophy’s Renewed Hope in a Jar Hydrating Mist.

The last piece of a great honeymoon skincare puzzle, then, is an easy and quick way to remove your makeup at night. Skip that ten-step skincare routine of yours for a few days (and save yourself the suitcase space), and opt for some super-easy facial wipes instead. Our favorites are: Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleansing Cloths, Josie Maran Bear Naked Wipes and Too Cool for School’s Takkoza Cleansing Wipes.

Overall, finding the right honeymoon look is all about finding that balance between super-sexy and oh-so au natural. Stick to pieces that are simple to pack and easy-breezy to wear, but that still feel fresh and celebratory, and you can’t go wrong. Cheers, brides, to being the chicest newlywed on the beach!
