Let’s face it, there’s a lot that needs to happen between now and the moment your bride walks down the aisle, but it’s all a part of a beautiful journey —a journey we here at Aisle Planner have embraced wholeheartedly.
That’s why our online wedding planning tools are anchored by a highly functional, wonderfully customizable and intentionally long and comprehensive checklist to give you the perfect road map to planning the perfect wedding, each and every time. Yes, we realize that our checklist is LONG and quite possibly overwhelming—but it’s better to have a list that covers so many things that most wedding planning checklists overlook. And it really IS better to know that you’ve got everything covered then to wonder what might be slipping through the cracks.
Here’s a few pointers we pulled together to help you navigate Aisle Planner’s checklist and get things done with ease.
#1 Get Your (Planning) House in Order
It’s likely you’ve perfected your planning process for each service that you offer (full service, month-of planning, day-of coordination, etc.) and have developed your own handy (and comprehensive) to-do list to keep you sane and on track, especially when you’re balancing a long list of to-do’s for multiple weddings at a time. Get your planning house in order (and save yourself some time down the road) by taking the time to create a project template for each client type you service. With project templates (accessible from your planner dashboard), you have the ability to taylor our existing checklist items for your own needs as a planner.
#2 On Your Mark, Get Set…
Before you dive into planning for each new wedding you create in Aisle Planner, we recommend you take a quick gander at the checklist and get it in good working order. While the templates you’ve set have given you a good head start, each and every one of your clients will have different needs or come to you in various stages of planning. Check off the things that you (or your client) may have already completed and delete the items and/or categories that won’t apply to you or your client. You can also edit or change the wording and feel free to add a task or two to get your list ready for action!
#3 Minimize Distractions
We designed our wedding planning tools to minimize distractions and keep you focused on the task at hand – our planning checklist included. That’s why you’ll never see any distracting ads or pop ups on Aisle Planner, just pure planning. It’s amazing how productive you can be when you’re completely immersed in the planning process before you.
#4 Divide and Conquer
We make it easy for you to divide and conquer that checklist of yours with the ability to easily assign tasks to others by clicking on the person icon to the right of each item. Go on and assign tasks to yourself, your team members, your intern, or even the happy bride/groom. With everyone on the same page and a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities for the road ahead, productivity remains at peak performance, and can easily keep tabs on progress across the board.
#5 Break It Down
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all that’s left to do, especially if you’re juggling multiple weddings. Break it down and focus on the most important tasks at hand. Productivity experts the world over recommend choosing one to three most important to-do’s at a time and work on checking those off before moving onto the next. Once you’ve honed in on the tasks you’ve got your eyes on for immediate action, take it a step further and assign each a due date of today—that way, these most important tasks automatically populate each of couple’s wedding dashboard. This will keep them top of mind until they are completed and checked off your list.
You’d me amazed how far you’ll get by breaking down an overwhelmingly long list into smaller chunks.
#6 Enjoy the Journey
While we all know that planning something as monumental as a wedding (multiplied by 15 to 30 times a year) isn’t easy. As wedding pros, we ultimately LOVE what we do, but sometimes all the busy work can distract us from remembering why we were drawn to weddings in the first place. Each wedding we take on really is an amazing and beautiful journey.
