Wedding Inspiration: Desert Modern

Yet another Modernism Week is fast approaching in Palms Springs and this annual eleven day celebration of mid-century architecture, culture, and design remains on my bucket list. While famed hotels such as the Parker Palms Springs and the Ace Hotel have become destination Palm Springs hot spots that have garnered much attention in the wedding world, many of the homes featured by Modernism Week’s mid-century tours, such as Casa Verona, and newly renovated mid-century iconic hotels, such as Hotel Lautner, are perfect for an intimate desert modern affair. With desert modernism (and the clean simple lines that have come to define this term) fresh on my mind (could February come any sooner?), I decided that an old school Hollywood meets Palms Springs idea board was long overdue.

“The true architecture of the desert really evolves from the lighting and textures and colors and essence of the desert.”
